Hi, all.  In a few weeks I am going to be doing the next in the MPulse seminar series, this one titled "Using MPulse to Save Money".

I have a bunch of ideas for the seminar, starting with 'you can't save money if you don't know what you are spending and where you are spending it in the first place'.

But how are YOU using MPulse to save money.  I know in the northeast this winter I am going to hear "all money spent on fuel", "budgets for everything else frozen" ...

How are you using your MPulse to be smart spenders?  Let me know how!

Thanks.

hi. we use mpulse to track the cost of parts as they come in and then compare vendors of the same part over time. that has really helped us choose the irght and cheapest vendor

we have an accounting system that does not allow me to e-mail purchase orders to any of my vendors. i customized the requisition form in mpulse to match up to the po numbers my accounting system kicks out. at first i thought it would be a lot more work but it's not. my supervisors, who are into m-pulse everyday, can keep track of any stocked inventory supplies or parts they have. when they are flagged, we simply use the purchase order number from my other system and plug it into the req form, the rest is easy as all they have to do is link whatever it is they are ordering (we do not do auto reqs. because i don't want confusion), or if it is not a stocked part, they add it to a req (purchase order for my purposes). this has made our ordering a much more streamlined process as we can simply e-mail orders to our vendors without the need for paper copies of purchase orders to be faxed. it may seem small, but it has greatly reduced time involved with purchasing.

Thanks for the idea, Tim.  Sometimes it's the incremental things that just make life easier!
